To understand the nature of black holes, unique
space objects, scientists around the world are currently
working on a number of ambitious research projects.
One of them is the Russian space observatory Millimetron.
On the modern concepts of black holes and their signifi-
cance in understanding the Universe speaks Vyacheslav I.
Dokuchaev, Dr. Sci. in Physics and Mathematics, the leading
researcher of the Institute for Nuclear Research, RAS.
